If you currently receive health insurance through Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), you must renew your benefits this year to maintain health insurance coverage.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, all Medicaid or CHIP recipients were continuously enrolled in health insurance coverage without needing to reapply for benefits. Due to a recent federal law, continuous Medicaid enrollment ended on March 31, 2023, so you need to take steps to ensure your health insurance coverage will continue if you are eligible.
Make sure to update your contact information with Medicaid. How you will renew coverage will vary by which state you live in.
1 | Visit www.ACCESSNebraska.ne.gov or call (855)-632-7633 to learn more about requirements and eligibility. Make sure to update your contact information with Nebraska Medicaid and/or Nebraska Heritage Health Managed Medicaid.
2 | Be on the lookout for renewal materials from Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and complete and submit the required information,
3 | If you no longer qualify for Nebraska Medicaid, Healthy Blue, United HealthCare Community Plan, or Nebraska Total Care, you can visit healthcare.gov for information on additional coverage options.
