Job Description |
- Performs patient registrations and verifies current patient/guarantor demographic and insurance information.
- Notifies nursing and/or medical staff of emergent medical needs as directed.
- Obtains appropriate signatures on forms from patient, guarantor or family and distributes corresponding paperwork to appropriate departments.
- Answers multi line telephone.
- Responsible for making and scheduling patient appointments and for pulling medical records for upcoming appointments and messages.
- Obtains copies of Medicare, Medicaid or insurance cards at each registration.
- Obtains signatures on consent to treat forms and HIPAA Forms as appropriate.
- Collects all co-pays, receipts in payments and writes receipt for patients or documents transaction according to policy and procedures.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years hospital and/or health clinic reception
experience preferred. Medical terminology preferred.
