Job Description
  • Directly responsible for answering department phone calls. Coordinates the release of health information to all requestors including patients, physicians, other health care providers, insurance companies, lawyers, and courts.

  • Prepares and processes documents for subpoenas.

  • Maintains security and confidentiality standards for access and review of health information. Verifies authorization in accordance with hospital policy and procedures, state and federal laws.

  • Knowledge of hospital, state, federal and regulatory agencies standards regarding patient access to and release of information.

  • Provide excellent customer service by being attentive and respectful.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology or Health Information Management preferred. 

  • At least one year of Medical Records experience strongly preferred.
